Description Crescent Woolen Mills is a manufacturer of woolen-spun yarns located on the western shore of Lake Michigan in beautiful Two Rivers, WI. Crescent has provided the best natural and synthetic yarns to the textile industry for almost 100 years. Crescent Woolen Mills converts fibers into yarns sold to manufacturers of knitted and woven products. The textile operations performed by Crescent Woolen Mills include blending, carding, spinning, winding, doubling, and twisting. In addition, Crescent's wholly owned subsidiary, Owen Glove Lining, manufactures knitted fleece linings for the safety, apparel and sporting goods industries. Fibers converted into yarns by Crescent Woolen Mills include wool, alpaca, angora, nylon, acrylic, polyester, and modacrylic. Our technical staff regularly participate in the research and development efforts of our customers to understand their needs and provide guidance in making material recommendations. RTP Company is a global compounder of custom engineered thermoplastics headquartered in Winona, Minnesota. The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall manufacturing organization, manufacturing support, process improvement, quality, and direct P&L. Accountable for all operational programs and expenditures to ensure maximum operational results to support the organization's and compliance with all legal requirements. Responsible for efficiency, quality, and operational improvement programs with accountability for safety, waste, costs, labor absorption, and support of strategic customer initiatives and projects. This position supervises managers/leads responsible for production, maintenance, engineering, warehousing. This individual must work and promote servicing the customer, operational excellence, product consistency with cost and asset optimization. Plans, develops, and implements operational policies and goals to ensure the organization operates at peak productivity and profitability. Communicates plant production-related requirements and solutions to the relevant departments. Develops and communicates business impact with weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports and presentations in Excel and PowerPoint. Assists in costing efforts by compiling production reports, completing time studies and provide recommendations as necessary. Ensures accurate completion of monthly operations reports, key performance indicators (KPIs) and evaluates against objectives, operating costs and project management status. Adjusts plans based on variances. Monitors quality and plant performance; identifies continuous improvement opportunities, applies lean techniques, to improve on metrics. Supervises plant supervisors and plant personnel, inclusive of but not limited to training and development, performance management, and hiring. Responsible for planning and managing schedules and workloads to meet customer delivery requirements while best utilizing the company's production capacity. Implements operational policies and procedures. Ensures compliance to all employment, OSHA, environmental regulatory and corporate standards. Investigates and resolves root causes of any non-compliance. Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization. Conducts regular communication meetings with workforce where communication is open, clear, and direct. Manufacturers products according to standard operating procedures, formulas, and specifications. Oversees process changes related to customer quality concerns and ensure operational changes to prevent reoccurrence. Determines plans and changes in programs/operations based on projected sales demand and changes in technology. Continuously evaluates and monitors capital expenditure project to ensure supply meets exceeds customer demands. Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrated success in dealing with personnel concerns, performance management, quality management, and safety. Good understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and cost management. Ability to manage multiple work priorities to deliver real time performance improvements in a busy and demanding work environment. Strong ability to work with others at all levels of the organization Self-driven, accountable, high integrity, open communicator, strong work ethic Must have ability to speak and read English. Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must have a Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Engineering or related field and 3+ years prior manufacturing experience OR a relative combination of education and work experience. 3+ years of experience in the textile business preferred. Must have Intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook. Must have a minimum of 2+ years prior leadership and management experience. PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent bending/stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching and lifting (up to 50 lbs) Continual walking and standing Regular exposure to wools and other fibers Good vision is required, 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 Frequent and continuous use of hands and arms
