Overview Patient Care Technician - Stony Brook Urology, UFPC Location: Commack, NY Schedule: Full time Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5 PM Pay: $17.52 - $21.90 Our compensation philosophy aims to provide marketable compensation programs and to compensate employees based on relevant experience and education. Responsibilities SUMMARY: The incumbent, under general supervision and according to established policies & procedures, is responsible for preparing the patient to be seen by the physician or provider. Job Duties & Essential Functions: Ensure all patients are seen in an expedient and timely manner in the examination rooms in the outpatient facility. Assist with the setting up and preparation of patient and equipment for procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly environment in the area, clean area after patient exams and procedures. Check patient vitals and document all intake information. Enter patient information in the Electronic Medical Record system. Review patient chart, make sure necessary paper work is available for the physician and for the patients. Collect urine samples. Order supplies and equipment for patient procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Education & Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. Graduate from a Patient Care Technician or a Certified Nursing Assistant program or six (6) months of direct patience experience or completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited Nursing program which included both didactic and clinical rotations. Must have excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Physician office experience. BLS certification. Physical Demands: Physical ability to move 50 lbs. or more. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
