Job Type Full-time Description Normandy Farm Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a qualified individual who are interested in working in an upscale hospitality environment. Applicants with experience working for first-class hospitality organizations will be strongly considered. We are seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join our baking team. Our ideal candidate will have an upbeat demeanor, passion for the culinary arts, and professional training or experience. In this role, you will help make cookies, cakes, breads, and other pastries according to pre-established recipes. Consistency is essential, so you must also follow portioning and decorating guidelines. At the end of each production run, kitchen equipment must be sanitized, and all ingredients must be properly labeled and stored. This is a Full-time position with Paid time off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Long term and Short-Term Disability, Life Insurance and 401k company match. Work Schedule: Five (5) days a week Friday through Tuesday 2:00PM - 10:00PM Hourly rate is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience level. Prepares all plated desserts, chocolates, confections, entremets, frozen desserts, glazes, pies, cakes, and other bakery items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards Helps set pace and prep lists for the day with pastry staff Understands and oversees banquet orders, bread orders, and ordering in absence of Executive Pastry Chef Oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set up and presentation Helps maintain the cleanliness of the bake shop Assists in the fulfillment of wedding cake orders, handles special cake shapes and decorations Assists in production of bread, rolls, biscuits and muffins to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items Ensures that work area is safe and secure • Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations Maintains the highest sanitary conditions • Performs all other duties as assigned by employer Requirements Must be 18 year of age or older Completion of a culinary school program or apprenticeship preferred. Must have 2-3 years of previous pastry experience. The ability to stand for long periods of time Basic math skills Attention to detail A flexible schedule, especially during the holidays Salary Description $17.00 - $20.00 based on experience
