We are obsessed with delighting our members through superior products and services and an unwavering commitment to helping them become more effective marketers, build stronger brands, develop a more productive industry, and benefit humanity through bold leadership and innovation programs.LocationNew York City (hybrid)Position SummaryThe Vice President, AccountingFinance will play a key role on the Accounting team and work closely with the EVP of Accounting Finance & HR as well as the SVP of Accounting to ensure the department operates effectively and efficiently. This includes issuing timely and complete financial statements, meeting all internal and external reporting deadlines while providing high quality in-depth financial analysis. This VP will be responsible for managing the daily accounting functions utilizing best practices and ensuring high level performance of the to be newly implemented SAGE Intacct software. The successful candidate will be extremely detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, a team player who will work collaboratively to complete departmental tasks and a keen ability to adapt to an evolving business structure in a high growth environment. The VP will assist with strategic initiatives and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.Primary Responsibilities:Assist with preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements by prescribed deadlines.Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.Assist with the creation and review of annual and monthly departmental budgets and forecasts.Assist with the monthly cash flow projection report to ensure proper liquidity to meet operational needs.Analyze financial data (balance sheet and income statement) on a monthly basis and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision making.Coordinate with the EVP & SVP to ensure timely completion of audits and preparation and filing of tax returns.Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations excluding AR & AP.Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures and ensure integrity of financial reporting. Assist with implementation, enhancement and maintenance of ERP system ensuring data integrity and optimizing processes.Supervise accounting staff.Maintain and if applicable, document accounting policies and procedures and contribute to efforts to streamline processes and implement best practices. Provide financial analysis and support for special projects, acquisitions or other initiatives.Professional Experience and QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting plus a minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including 3+ years in an accounting managerial roleCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license andor MBA is highly desirable Experience in not-for-profit accounting is advantageous Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Exceptional knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of taxes, including unrelated business income tax (UBIT) and other relevant tax regulationsStrong analytical skills and knowledge of best practices to develop and implement improvements and recommendationsProven ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and staff at all levels, as well as mentor and lead team membersExperience with accounting software system implementation and development is a plus, SAGE Intacct experience preferred.Salary and Total Rewards PackageStarting pay range: $130,000 to $140,000, based on relevant experience and prehensive health and wellness benefits, 401k with company match, hybrid workweek and flexible scheduling, generous paid time off program, casual dress code, incentives, and rewards.
