Role Description We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team. In this full-time, on-site, leadership role, you work as a project manager for diverse and challenging civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards and local regulations. This opportunity is for someone interested in tackling all aspects of a project instead of being pigeonholed into one part of a job. Responsibilities Research the feasibility of new project acquisition including identifying project limitations and understanding current applicable state and local regulations. Lead project success and client satisfaction by overseeing the division of work to staff, monitoring progress, budgeting, and managing all necessary submissions of permit applications, zoning cases, and plans to state and local authorities. Conduct projects from inception to completion by collecting and assembling data from work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, hydrologic analysis, zoning regulations, and geotechnical data. Communicating project expectations, applicable local regulations, zoning laws, and recommendations on engineering, design, and construction problems or opportunities to clients and other staff working on the project. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 5+ years of post-education experience in civil design and land development. Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain one within a year. Proven project management experience with cases of successful coordination of jobs from start to finish and creative solutions for engineering problems. Technical expertise in AutoCAD, drafting, and design. Strong communication skills to effectively and professionally express complicated engineering projects to an engineering and non-engineering audience. Demonstrated examples of ability to multitask in various projects, prioritize project tasks, and delegate work to project members. Experience leading the processing of plan approvals, zoning cases, and obtaining building permits for commercial and residential land development projects in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
