Job responsibilities include: Patient counseling with a significant amount of time devoted to patients who have chronic or high-risk medical and/or psychiatric problems. Expert and resource professional service for program events that concern health and nutrition issues within the facility. Plan and implement orientation and in-service programs inter-and-intra-departmentally. Develop all menus and detailed recipes. Track inventory (to include USDA) as maintained through the food service vendor and serve as the Hospital's liaison to the Leadership Team regarding issues related to food preparation, safety and inventory. Provide leadership to the facility for the successful accreditation through the CMS and JOINT Commission process. Position is assigned to Walter B Jones, position is typically scheduled 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday. About the Walter B. Jones Center: The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC: (1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery". The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT. Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties: (1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders. Demonstrated ability to lead and teach nutrition, diet counseling, patient education, communicating in a group setting. Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); or Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
