Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking an Optimization Engineer - Researcher to apply expertise in the optimization, simulation, and design of physical and engineered systems. This position requires a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance. Pay Range $108,600 - $126,720 Annually Job Description Develop and implement HPC algorithms for simulation and design optimization of complex physical systems. Contribute to solving challenging design optimization problems. Document research through presentations and peer-reviewed journal articles. Qualifications PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Computational Science, or related field. Experience with simulation tools using continuum approaches. Knowledge of high-performance computing and parallel programming interfaces. Qualifications We Desire Exposure to machine learning and data science techniques. Experience in a collaborative software development environment. Additional Information This is a Postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to a maximum of three years. The selected candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test and obtain a Q-level security clearance. The position requires U.S. citizenship.
