Job Description This position reports directly to the Site Quality Manager supporting the Smiths Interconnect Kansas City site. The Jr. Quality Engineer shall, as their primary role, drive quality improvement on site and support initiatives shared across the Connectors business unit. This shall include supporting both the daily needs of the Kansas City site, as well as other sites globally. Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with the site leadership team on Quality analytics and priority process and system improvements. Support the implementation of Quality and Operational initiatives on site and within region Facilitate and lead site MRB (Material Review Board) and supplier return process Perform Contract Review for review of quality requirements prior to customer order acceptance Contribute as a member of continuous improvement teams utilizing quality process methodologies. Support Global Supplier Quality and Development in resolution of supplier issues Assist in Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection in KC site on an as-needed basis Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) and help support Customer Source Inspection (CSI) on an as-needed basis Support and participate in local site Quality Management System audits - both internal and external Work with cross-functional team to close audit findings and work towards Root Cause and Corrective Action Driving 8D process for Root Cause and Corrective Action The Individual Inspection experience highly preferred Degree in Engineering - Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing preferred 1+ years working experience (can include internships) Data analytical ability Ability to work independently and in a team setting Knowledge and experience in root cause analysis Ability to report on complicated subjects in a concise manner Six sigma knowledge desired Strong technical acumen and a desire to learn and work in a manufacturing environment Excellent English language communication skills - spoken and written Spanish speaking a plus Diversity & Inclusion: We believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
