POSITION SUMMARY Provide training, audit, and consultation services to providers, office staff, billing staff, and coding staff. Ensures medical service documentation and coding conforms to guidelines and regulations. Responsible for handling high level assignments such as auditing of coding compliance and perform presentations ACCOUNTABILITIES Assist in developing and coordinating an educational plan that encompasses accurate coding and billing procedures based on specialty to obtain appropriate reimbursement. Provide regularly scheduled educational seminars regarding coding and billing. Design tools to enhance the level of knowledge of current CPT and ICD-10-CM codes to PPG physicians and staff. Research and communicate government and private insurance carriers' coding billing policies and guidelines to physicians, office staff, and the billing and coding teams. Perform audits to determine coding, billing, and documentation accuracy; summarize information and make suggestions to improve processes. Review code change requests to determine accurate coding and/or advise coding or billing changes to ensure appropriate reimbursement. Facilitate team effort in the delivery of quality care and customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned. Location: Remote Education: A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field.. Skills: Extensive knowledge with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding. Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology. In-depth knowledge of reimbursement systems and prospective payment methodologies. Must be detail orientated and have the ability to work independently and accurately resolve problems. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience performing physician coding audits, including E/M. Years of Experience: A minimum of (2) years coding experience with physician coding. Applicants must reside 100 miles from Toledo, OH 43604 Certification: One or more current credentials: CPC, RHIT or RHIA ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE Must have broad CPT, HCPCS and ICD10-CM knowledge. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries: requires a strong commitment to customer service and effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from a computer. Must be able to operate a fax machine and copier. Must have the ability to manage large volumes of work, ability to quickly learn and retain information regarding issues that present themselves. Must have strong organizational, quantitative, and analytical skills as well as the ability to multi-task Must be able to occasionally lift and/or carry sedentary equipment and materials.
