Role Description The San Francisco SPCA Hospital is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Veterinary Technician Supervisor. In this role, you will serve as a floor supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day operations while actively participating in direct patient care as needed. Our practice offers a unique opportunity to work for a nonprofit where all proceeds benefit our shelter and other SPCA programs while providing high-quality veterinary care to SF animals and their guardians. We see a diverse caseload, serving the public through general practice, urgent care, and emergency services. The hospital is open from 7:30 am-6:00 pm, seven days a week. Our hospital team works collaboratively with co-supervisors, doctors, and client service staff to ensure the highest standards of care and client satisfaction. Core Responsibilities Orchestrate the flow of the day, ensuring efficient operations and optimal patient care. Collaborate with co-supervisors, doctors, and client service team to deliver exceptional patient and client care. Maintain exceptional client services and provide support to clients as needed. Utilize strong skills in emergency, urgent care, and general practice to deliver high-quality veterinary care. Serve as a mentor to assigned veterinary assistants and RVT's, providing training, mentoring, and coaching. Actively participate in problem-solving, critical thinking, and promoting a positive work culture. Demonstrate leadership skills and prioritize the overall success and culture of the hospital. Requirements Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a minimum of 3 years of experience At least one year of experience in supervising a team in a veterinary hospital setting. Exceptional client service skills with a focus on building strong relationships. Proficient in emergency, urgent care, and general practice veterinary procedures. Strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. Ability to problem-solve, think critically, and make informed decisions. Experience with training, mentoring, and coaching veterinary staff is highly valued. Bilingual Spanish, Cantonese and/or Mandarin highly preferred. Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, which includes one weekend day. Stable schedule but must have some flexibility. Hours will be scheduled between 7:30am and 7:30pm Salary & Benefits The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. The expected range is $40.72 - $44.79 per hour.
