Department Summary Surpassing network limitations of the past, our Wireless Development organization is building the country's first cloud-native, standalone 5G wireless network. Job Duties and Responsibilities As a 5G ORAN Field Engineer, you'll be out in the field keeping our facilities and equipment in top form by maintaining multiple locations in your assigned area. You will be in charge of post construction checks, single site verification, commissioning, site acceptance, testing and maintaining cell sites and edge and local data center installations. You will also be evaluating our network coverage and finding ways to make it even better. Key Responsibilities: Operate, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on wireless network cell site equipment Support and deploy CU-CP and CU-UP network functions using VMWare Telco Cloud Automation Platform Configure CSR and inspect site cabinets for damage or post-construction issues Validate breaker placement, GPS cable, backhaul fiber connections, and power/site configuration Verify antenna positions, perform single site verification using EXFO tool for various issues Collaborate with experts for integration, troubleshoot network functionality, maintain inventory records, resolve tickets, and ensure compliance with installation standards Skills, Experience and Requirements Education and Experience: 3+ years of telecommunications experience, specializing in RAN, 4G LTE cell site troubleshooting, and testing Technical degree in Electronics or Telecommunications, or equivalent military and industry experience Skills and Requirements: Familiarity with testing protocols for transport, RF, base-station turn-up, commissioning, and validation Troubleshooting expertise with antenna systems, spectrum analyzers, and base station equipment maintenance Proficient in PIM, VSWR, MIMO, and RET, with experience in LTE or CDMA technology from major vendors Ability to perform dark and lit fiber testing, with skills in PC hardware troubleshooting, and familiarity with DC power distribution systems Location: Due to the emergency response nature of this role, candidates must live within or be able to relocate within DMV coverage area. Relocation assistance will be considered for the ideal candidate. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
