Explore our"¯website ( , and, if you like what you see, apply today."¯"¯"¯"¯ Position Summary: The Union Payroll Specialist will work within the Craft Payroll department and will report to the Craft Payroll Manager. They will work closely with the Craft Payroll Manager and Senior Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the processing high volume weekly payroll for international employees and some domestic employees using JD Edwards software. This is an in house, full-cycle, multi-state, and international payroll position for craft payroll. This position will be fully in-office. The Union Payroll Specialist will communicate with employees both in person, on phone and electronically. Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 annually (DOE) Essential Responsibilities: Assist with the processing of weekly multistate confidential craft payroll for both international and some domestic payrolls. Responsible for support of set up of all New Hires in Oracle and E1. General Employee filing and record keeping. Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Support the month-end closing for all payroll related accounts to ensure quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and other statutory reporting requirements for domestic and international payroll can be processed to meet statutory deadlines. Ensure accuracy of employee union benefits, garnishments, and other union benefits and employee deduction. Research payroll issues/discrepancies and process necessary corrections. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Receive and respond to payroll and payroll related inquiries from current and former employees. Assisting in payroll audits as needed. Performs additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Position Related Skills Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network. Experience utilizing Excel for reporting and being able to do pivot tables, V-look ups, etc. highly preferred. Working knowledge in JD Edwards or similar ERP One platform preferred. Understanding of common payroll systems such as Oracle, ADP, etc. Experience processing multi-state and international payroll preferred. Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations. Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress. Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships. Excellent organizational skill with strong attention to detail. Ability to work well in a large professional setting. Patience and professionalism are essential. Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership. Professional Experience and Education At least three (3) years' working experience with non-union or union full cycle payroll required. Union payroll experience strongly preferred. In house Payroll Processing experience preferred. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience preferred. Physical and Mental Requirements: Standing/Walking/Sitting: workday is combination of standing, walking and sitting.
