Summary: Provides Behavioral Services to individuals living in Individual Residential Alternatives, or receiving services through Dayhab programs. Provides support to staff and functions as an interdisciplinary team member under the supervision of a Behavior Intervention Specialist - I (BIS-I). Essential Functions: Makes behavioral assessment, gathers data and information on individual and creates a behavioral plan of treatment for the individual Develops goals, objectives, and methods to address behavioral problems. Develops methods to address new maladaptive behaviors or to strengthen existing adaptive behaviors. Writes and implements Behavior Supports Plans, Rights Restrictions Plans and Behavior Support Guidelines as indicated. Consults with BIS-I on plans and gains approval through the Behavioral Management Oversight Committee. Licensed Social Worker signs off on the plans. Functions as a member of the Behavior Supports Team; consults with team as part of development of plans. Provides support directly to the individuals served through one on one sessions focused debriefing of challenging episodes, skills building related to coping skills and preferred behaviors, and support of emotionally challenging experiences. Provides consultation and specific training to staff, interdisciplinary team and family members as needed. Provides consistent follow up with individuals, staff and interdisciplinary team and family members as needed. Participates in Life Plan review process, as necessary. Attends case reviews and team meetings as requested and pertinent. Documents program participant progress in a professional manner and ensures completion of other record keeping tasks as per Agency/program policies and procedures. Follows time frames for completing paperwork in a timely manner. Adheres to the American Psychological Association Code of Ethics. Advises the clinical supervisor of any obstacles to achieving responsibilities Receives supervision from the BIS-I and plan review/approval from the Licensed Clinical Social Worker Participates in training opportunities to enhance, acquire and develop knowledge of developmental disabilities. Participate in quality improvement and corporate compliance activity, as needed. Other duties as assigned. Nonessential Functions: Participates in agency committees and events as needed. Reporting Responsibilities: Reports to Director of Clinical Services Supervisory Responsibilities: None exercised Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Development of behavioral programs for people with developmental disabled preferred Experiencing in writing and implementation of behavior plans with individuals, staff, and interdisciplinary teams preferred Requires good listening skills, excellent oral and communication skills, good math ability and basic computer skills Strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred Physical Requirements: Ability to use standard office equipment, including personal computer, phone, fax, copier, etc. Ability to drive a vehicle. Working Conditions: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Will be required to travel on occasion. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from a program in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology and Valid NYS drivers license with safe driving record per agency policy
