Overview The Assistant Controller will be responsible for cash application, compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions. The Assistant Controller also analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers. The Assistant Controller assists in the preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances along with updating and reviewing material costs and gross profit margins. The Assistant Controller must understand principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Review and posts receipts and payments to appropriate ledgers, spreadsheets, records, and databases. Installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures. Devises and implements system for general accounting. Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures. Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation. Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns. Coordinates activities of external auditors. Qualifications Two (2) years of experience as an Accountant, Financial Analyst or a related role. Bachelor's degree Accounting, Finance or a related field A minimum of three (3) years of experience applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. A minimum of two (2) years of experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
