LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a talented Payroll and Benefits Lead for a contract position. This role is responsible for regional oversight of payroll and benefits management, coordinating payroll activities, and supporting regional initiatives. The position plays a critical role in developing and delivering effective systems related to pay data and benefits, including system setup and annual enrollment. Summary of Responsibilities: Manage payroll and benefit processes effectively. Oversee the delivery of legally compliant payroll and benefit programs for US and Canadian locations. Manage agreements with vendors and administrators, ensuring effective service delivery. Direct payroll processing and employee benefits in alignment with defined standards and schedules. Maintain and process data in systems according to established payroll procedures, monitoring for irregularities. Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely updates to payroll databases and benefit platforms. Administer benefit program systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity of eligibility information. Facilitate internal cost reallocations related to payroll and benefits expenses. Analyze changes in federal, state, and country laws regarding benefits and payroll, advising management accordingly. Recommend new policies and procedures to improve service efficiency and system effectiveness. Collaborate with payroll and benefits vendors to implement compliance changes. Provide information related to accounting reconciliations and general ledger support. Generate accounting reports as needed. Stay current on HRIS, payroll, and benefit systems to ensure alignment and effective accounting support. Advise sites on resolving pay-related issues. Functional Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related HR field. Certified Payroll Professional preferred; additional certifications a plus. 10+ years of progressive HR experience with HRIS (SAP), payroll systems, and multijurisdictional employer payroll tax reporting. Knowledge of benefit programs, including health, disability, workers' compensation, life insurance, and retirement plans. Familiarity with ADP Comprehensive Payroll and Benefits platform. Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, including Fair Labor Standards and Department of Labor regulations. Personal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines. Strong business acumen with problem-solving capabilities. High level of commitment to client relationships and customer service. Strong collaboration skills.
