Must Have skills:User ResearchQualitative AnalysisProject ManagementData Management - SQL or ExcelDetailed Business Justification regarding reason for hire: We have a need for a User Research Assistant on our team to handle logistics for our research studies in our lab in Seattle, such as recruiting, (re)scheduling, and rewarding participants, maintaining lab equipment, installing and preparing study devices and software (and resetting for each participant), annotating and recording participant sessions, editing videos, and assisting with data analysis and study summaries. Having an assistant will enable the Senior User Researcher to focus their expertise on the best methods to collect, analyze, and report on study data, which in turn, allows them to conduct more effective research faster. More research increases our impact, enabling us to inform more product and design decisions with customer input and feedback. Job DescriptionKey QualificationsPrevious work experience requiring high engagement with peopleQualitative user research experience including moderating studies, interviewing, and interacting with participants, ideally in-person and remotePrevious experience managing multiple projects of different complexity simultaneouslyPrevious experience with participant data management is preferredPrevious study annotation and data handling experience is a plusHigh attention to detail and ownershipStrong communication skills with participants, team members, stakeholders, and leadershipAbility to problem solve and create processes and tools to increase efficiencyFamiliarity with Mac products and ecosystem is a plusDescriptionRecruit and schedule participants for user studiesEnsure appropriate participant compliance with study protocolsEngage and communicate with participants before, during, and after studiesSetup and break down study session areasHelp ensure study materials, devices, and software will be ready for each study and participantAssist with study facilitation, such as recording, note taking, and data collectionAssist with data review and clean-upAssist with preparing and communicating results to stakeholder teams and archiving resultsHelp troubleshoot and maintain study lab equipmentTrack and report on the status of a portfolio of projects in progressEducationBachelor's degree required, with major or concentration in human factors, cognitive or experimental psychology, human-computer interaction or related field OR equivalent in relevant experience
