Event Cook Position Summary: Trillium is looking for an Events Cook to join our culinary team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and garnishing various foods efficiently while ensuring food quality and consistency during events, private dining, and regular service. This role involves technical culinary skills and the ability to execute event-specific food production with precision. This position will report directly to Back of House management. Job Duties & Responsibilities Food Production Maintain food quality and nutritional standards. Perform technical culinary food production, portion control, and service standards. Follow production schedules to ensure smooth and timely execution of event menus. Prepare meats, poultry, game, fish, vegetables, and fruits. Lift and move equipment to and from workstations, stoves, and refrigerators. Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products to ensure smooth service during events. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes. Check the quality of mise en place before every event and communicate any issues. Plan and execute prep work for upcoming events, ensuring all items are ready ahead of service times. Cook on the hot lines for regular service as needed or directed by Back of House management. Assist the Commissary prep team as needed or directed by Back of House management. Event Responsibilities Anticipate and prepare platters, passed appetizers, and other menu items for events based on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Ensure all items for events are prepared and ready 15 minutes before service time. Communicate with chefs regarding event needs, plans, and locations for prepared items. Food Safety Maintain food storage and handling procedures. Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and equipment. Ensure proper cooking temperatures, product cooling, and labeling practices are followed. Ensure proper cleanliness of workstations during and after each shift. Properly store, rotate, and manage all food products according to local, state, federal, and company guidelines. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary Desired Qualifications & Abilities Qualifications & Experience Passion for the culinary world and a drive to learn and succeed. Minimum of 1 year of culinary training and experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a modern dining or event setting is preferred. Previous additional experience working with pastry and desserts is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Must be able to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong proficiency with knife skills and culinary equipment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Strong team-oriented approach to working with others and maintaining food quality standards.
