Department Summary: MITRE Labs is seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer to drive initiatives in environmental engineering and technology, making a lasting impact on national and global challenges. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and advisor, represent MITRE externally, and identify opportunities for thought leaders to engage in environmental engineering challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental sciences and engineering, R&D experience, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Basic Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing against environmental engineering technology programs and initiatives. Technical expertise across a broad spectrum of environmental engineering technologies. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: 12 years experience with a Bachelor's degree; 10 years experience with a Master's degree; 7 years experience with a Ph.D.; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Experience addressing and engaging with academic, industrial, government, and international partners in environmental engineering efforts. Experience in leading environmental engineering technology initiatives with Federal partners, such as the Department of Defense.
