Position Overview: We are seeking a talented IT Professional with experience in Database and Business Intelligence development to join our team, with opportunities to work remotely. This role is based in the corporate office located in Farmington Hills, MI. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic IT and business environment, working autonomously while also collaborating with various teams. This is a unique opportunity to transition our Costpoint Power BI functionality as well as the development of Database applications needs across the Company into a full-scale solution for our organization, impacting hundreds of users. Key Responsibilities: Data Model Development : Learn and comprehend the existing Deltek Costpoint OLTP Database and current Power BI Data Models to design, build, maintain, and extend a robust star-schema data warehouse. This will facilitate effective reporting and visualization within Power BI. ETL Solutions : Design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) solutions using SQL Server Integration Services, Python, and/or PowerShell to ensure timely data loading and maintenance. Financial Reporting : Collaborate with Finance and other business units to design, develop, and optimize financial dashboards and reports that support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Collaboration : Work closely with IT, Finance, Operations, and other business stakeholders to define requirements and enhance reporting capabilities. Reporting : Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures for operational and financial reporting, ensuring the data is optimized for performance and accuracy. System Optimization : Assist in optimizing the Deltek Costpoint ERP system and other reporting tools, integrating Power BI reports into existing applications as needed. Documentation and Support : Create comprehensive documentation, including flowcharts and code comments, to demonstrate solutions. Provide support to internal stakeholders and troubleshoot complex issues. DevSecOps Practices : Utilize best practices in source control and deployment pipelines, adhering to IT policies and procedures. Budget Management : Assist in managing project budgets related to BI initiatives, ensuring that all developments are cost-effective and aligned with financial goals. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Intelligence, Finance or a related field (or equivalent experience). Costpoint Power BI experience preferred 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer, including star schema modeling (Dimension/Fact tables). 3+ years of experience designing and building ETL solutions. Strong proficiency in SQL, Cognos, Microsoft Power BI, and Power Query (M). Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering effective solutions. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Experience with Deltek Costpoint Familiarity with Cognos Business Intelligence and migrating on-prem SQL Server data to Azure. Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) and SharePoint-based workflows. Understanding of DevOps, DataOps, or DevSecOps tools, such as RedGate Flyway or similar. Previous experience in financial analysis or budgeting related to BI projects.
