Salary: See Position Description Location : Suite 700, OR Job Type: Non-Union Regular Full-Time Job Number: Department: Engineering & Construction Opening Date: 10/15/2024 Closing Date: Continuous Description We are seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Coordinator in the Engineering + Construction division to oversee and conduct both internal and external audits, ensuring TriMet/contractors/consultants meet program criteria and contract requirements. In this role, you will establish audit criteria, maintain QA documentation, and ensure non-compliance issues are addressed. Your expertise will help develop quality processes, support project teams, and uphold industry best practices. Join our team and play a key role in driving quality excellence across our projects. This role requires being in office a minimum of three (3) days per week. Perform related duties as required. Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers' experiences and of TriMet's product and service offerings. Essential Functions Schedule and conduct external audits and on-site surveillance of consultant and contractor quality activities to ensure compliance with contract and program requirements by way of self-perform and third party consultant. Establish audit criteria and samples based upon approved project quality programs, with assistance from the QA Manager. Schedule and conduct internal audits and on-site surveillance of construction management staff (PMs/DMs/CMs) activities in relation to conformance to internal divisional procedures and best practices by way of self-perform and third party consultant (Project Management Manual - PMM, Design and Construction Management Manual - DCMM, Quality Assurance Program Manual - QAPM, and Inspectors Manual - IM). Ensure that QA audit and surveillance records and documentation are accurate, properly maintained and distributed according to Program and FTA requirements. Verify and ensure that audit non-compliance items (i.e.audit findings) and recommendations are satisfactorily addressed and that systemic inadequacies are rectified. Track and document all internal/contractor/consultant follow-up activity until items are closed. Review any assigned contractor and consultant QA/QC plans for conformance contract and quality program requirements, specifications and industry best practices. Make recommendations through QA Manager and PM/DM/CM for revisions and updates as needed. Review development of scalable contract language (Special Provisions, Technical Specs, etc.) regarding QA/QC requirements and recommend any necessary revisions to QA Manager/PM to ensure compatibility with the QA Program. Provide ongoing support to construction management staff regarding QA/QC related clarifications and recommendations regarding quality activities of project consultants/contractors. Participate in design/construction meetings and coordinate and monitor QA/QC activities of TriMet design/construction management staff as directed by QA Manager. Provide and coordinate training of design/construction management staff in their quality program responsibilities as directed by QA Manager. Position Requirements A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or Industrial Engineering/Management being preferred. A minimum of four (4) years total credited experience are required. * Two (2) years of experience in quality management of heavy civil and/or vertical construction contracts are required. Two (2) years of experience in heavy civil and/or vertical construction QA/QC programs are preferred. One (1) year of experience in rail transit construction and Federal contracting is preferred. Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), American Society for Quality (ASQ) is preferred within three (3) years of employment. Or any equivalent combination of training or experience. *The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the "credited experience". Selection Criteria Type of Position / Grade / FLSA Grade 16, Exempt, Non-Union, Full-Time. Salary Range Minimum: $99,064.00 Maximum: $148,597.00 Salary offers will be determined by a candidate's education, training and relevant experience. Any final offer of employment will fall within the range stated above. For transparency, we choose to list the full available grade range, however, TriMet's salary administration process will ultimately determine the final salary offered.
