The firm has offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Sarasota, Washington, D.C., and Wilmington, DE. They are seeking a seasoned Trusts & Estates Paralegal with 5-8 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration to work in our Los Angeles (Westwood) office. Salary/Hourly Rate $100,000 - $110,000 Position Overview The Trusts & Estates Paralegal will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to estate planning and trust administration. This Trust & Estates Paralegal will assist with document preparation and review, legal research, and communication with clients and partners. Responsibilities Of The Trusts & Estates Paralegal Preparation of accountings for both estates and trusts Drafting of estate planning documents, including wills, living trusts, irrevocable trusts and asset transfers Assistance with probate administration, including probate petitions, assessor forms, statutory notices, creation of sub-trusts, family settlement agreements, Rule 5.6 notices, and allocation of assets Preparation of federal and state individual and fiduciary income tax returns, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns Serves as liaison between the firm, clients, advisors, and beneficiaries Filing documents with local, state, and federal courts (including e-filing) Assisting with trial preparation Review of attorney billing Revisions and calendaring of meetings and court dates Scheduling travel Qualifications For The Trusts & Estates Paralegal 5 to 8 years of experience in trusts & estates within a law firm environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with WealthCounsel, Lackner, ProLaw, and NetDocs a plus Notary Public a plus Excellent mathematical skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills Ability to work within deadlines and work on multiple tasks simultaneously Education Requirements Paralegal certificate is required Bachelor's degree is preferred Benefits Full Healthcare offered As a woman-owned firm, we value diversity.
