About the job Controller () Job Overview: The Controller, reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, will lead the Accounting Department and ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. This role includes oversight of general accounting functions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management. The Controller will manage a team, ensuring tasks are appropriately allocated while driving performance and fostering professional development. The role will focus on implementing strong internal controls and optimizing processes for increased efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the monthly financial close process and review reconciliations. Lead the preparation of audited financial statements under US GAAP. Coordinate the preparation and filing of various federal, state, and local tax returns. Establish and enforce departmental policies and procedures. Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes. Serve as the subject matter expert for ERP systems, controls, and issue resolution. Manage treasury functions, including wire transfers, bank communications, reconciliations, and ACH setup. Oversee biweekly payroll processing and collaborate with third-party payroll providers. Act as a key business partner, supporting internal teams to achieve objectives and resolve challenges. Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a demonstrated ability to manage teams. CPA required, with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Prior public audit experience, preferably within the life sciences sector. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a focus on accuracy. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in leveraging technology to improve financial operations. Salary Range: $180k - $200k
