Job Description AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Highway Civil Engineer to join our team based in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania . This position is expected to begin May 2025. In this role, you will contribute to technical teams working on medium to large scale transportation projects in the Greater Pennsylvania Area. Current notable projects include: I-95 RECONSTRUCTION (Philadelphia, PA) - Urban interstate reconstruction including interchange ramp and local roadway re- alignments, traffic control, and utility coordination in final design to mitigate level of service and improve existing conditions STATE RD RECONSTRUCTION (Bucks County, PA) - Suburban arterial reconstruction including right-of-way plan development, roadway geometry, pavement design, traffic control, and utility coordination in preliminary engineering to mitigate existing roadway flooding SR1 RECONSTRUCTION (Chester County, PA) - Freeway reconstruction including profile adjustments, interchange reconstruction, interchange ramp realignments, multiple roundabout designs, trail designs, and side road alignment adjustments. US-22 RECONSTRUCTION (Allentown, PA) - Urban interstate widening from 4 to 6 lanes. Project Includes bridge replacement, interchange reconfiguration, stream relocation, sound barriers, safety improvements, traffic control, and utility coordination. I-81 RECONSTRUCTION (Avoca, Moosic, and Scranton, PA) - Urban Interstate reconstruction including mainline widening, 2 interchanges being fully reconstructed including ramp realignments, intersection improvements, right-of- way coordination, and structure coordination for 15 bridges along mainline and ramps. The ideal Entry Level Civil Highway Engineer candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively and receiving technical guidance from more senior engineers. The ideal candidate will also be a certified Engineer in Training with relevant internship or other work experience. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Develop design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details • Develop rigid and flexible pavement designs • Prepare signing and pavement marking plans and details • Prepare construction phasing plans and develop maintenance of traffic based on interdisciplinary coordination and constructability reviews • Identify utility conflicts based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs • Develop construction quantities and cost estimates • Implement 3D CADD modeling techniques • Develop technical reports, tables, and graphics per client and/or internal AECOM standards • Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures • Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations • Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client's scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making. Attributes • Accountable for delivering clearly defined portions of a process or tasks for review by others • Uses standard procedures, protocols, or techniques to resolve clearly defined problems and escalates more complex issues • May provide feedback about existing procedures to make improvements • Contributes to project deliverables under the direction of more experienced staff • Performs a self-check of work products prior to submitting to others • Exchanges information and builds relationships on routine matters • Shows interest in accepting new responsibilities Qualifications: Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills. EIT Certification.
