Job Title: Senior Application Support EngineerDuration: 12+ Months W2 ContractLocation: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid Onsite)Required Pay Scale: $50 - 55hr W2***Due to client requirements this role is only open to USC or GC candidates***Job DescriptionAs a Senior Application Support Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency, stability and availability of complex application systems. You will contribute significantly to operational success, refine your expertise in incident management and DevOps and leave a lasting impact on the delivery of inventive solutions.Application support engineer with skills heavy in Java. Developer experience is NOT necessary but a good understanding of code is required. This is the top tier of support, experience in incident management is required.You will use your skills in incident management processes and tools, application monitoring metrics and tooling to generate reports and take corrective actionsYou will understand complex application systems and find your way through them to debug a business impacting issueYou will follow standards and best practices to bring operational efficiencies, stability and availability of the systemYou will use continuous delivery practices to evolve, support and deliver high-quality software, as well as value to end customers, as early as possible while working in a collaborative, value-driven teams to build innovative customer experiences for our clientsYou will leverage your knowledge regarding the different logging techniques (various levels) and use them for alerting, monitoring and identifying the root cause of incidentsYou will efficiently use DevOps tools and practices to deploy and run softwareYou will act as a mentor for less experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and leadership skillsRequirements:Excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAnalytical skillsHave a willingness to ask questionsBe able to work with business users and other Kroger Technology teamsBe able to translate between the business and Kroger technology teamsBe accountable for following up on support tickets and emails to their resolutionHave the confidence to challenge the developers on Agile best practices and definitions of done during refinement sessions and QA testingHave good time management skills - be able to transition between various support issues, testing and scrum master duties if necessaryFamiliarity with the Agile processExperience as a Scrum masterDefine requirements and manage waterfallagile frameworks to facilitate complex business needs in accordance with software development life cycle (SDLC) dependently execute large projects and lead other analysts in completing projects.Break down complex business and technology terms to aid in collaborative problem solving.Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to all levels within the organizationProven ability to understand strategic business requirements and translate them into strategic technology solutions for use across multiple lines of businessDemonstrated experience with industry best practices and an understanding of different technologiesStrong ability to make difficultquick decisions demonstrating criticalinnovative thinkingAbility to effectively interact with and influence a diverse group of associatesAbility to effectively partner with all levels of the organizationStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsKey ResponsibilitiesPartner with the appropriate teams to expedite issue resolution and manage to SLAs.Support and maintain infrastructure and applications utilizing required tools and technologies.Test infrastructure and application changes.Establish priorities for enhancementsmodifications.Develop functional specifications for enhancementsmodifications.Participate in the application technical design process.Develop functional specifications for enhancementsmodifications of application.Develop programming specifications. Provide support for applications, including involvement with the appropriate teams.
