Location: Springdale, Utah POWDR is an adventure lifestyle company that inspires every human being with cool experiences in awesome places. Within POWDR's portfolio are seven mountain resorts including Copper Mountain and Eldora Mountain Resort in Colorado; Boreal Mountain Resort and Soda Springs in the Lake Tahoe region of California; Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, Snowbird in Utah and SilverStar Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. Included in the POWDR portfolio, is Stovepipe Wells located in Death Valley National Park, operated under a long-term concessions contract with the National Park Service. Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go caf, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening. Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. Job Summary: The Night Security (EMT-B Certified) at Zion Lodge is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property during overnight hours. This position requires EMT-B (Emergency Medical Technician - Basic) certification to respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively. You will patrol the property, monitor security systems, assist guests with safety concerns, and act as the first responder in both medical and security-related incidents. The role is essential in maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing excellent customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct regular patrols of the lodge, guest rooms, and surrounding areas to ensure security, deter criminal activity, and check for hazards or disturbances. Respond immediately to any medical emergencies on-site and provide EMT-B level care until additional medical help arrives. Maintain necessary medical supplies and documentation. Address guest or staff safety concerns professionally and efficiently. Provide assistance to guests and employees during emergencies, including evacuations if necessary. Document and report all security incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies in a timely and accurate manner. Complete detailed incident reports and assist with investigations as needed. Oversee surveillance systems, including video monitoring and alarm systems. Respond to alerts and investigate suspicious activities. Liaise with local law enforcement, fire departments, or paramedics when necessary. Provide them with relevant information during investigations or emergencies. Ensure compliance with lodge safety protocols, National Park regulations, and state laws. Regularly inspect the property for potential security or safety risks and take corrective action. Keep EMT-B certification current, including attending any required ongoing training or certifications. Ensure compliance with all local and state EMT-B regulations. Provide a calm and professional demeanor while assisting guests with security or safety concerns, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Work Location: Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable. Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park. EMT-B (Basic) Certification required. Prior security experience preferred but not required. Familiarity with security systems and emergency procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and focused during emergencies or stressful situations. Capable of working independently and with limited supervision, especially during overnight shifts. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods. Valid driver's license.
