Our commercial/ defense client is currently building out a team of engineers to support EO/IR and payload based space optical systems. These engineers are able to sit fully remote. They will be working in small teams to add new features and improve existing software and hardware. We are seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to work with our blended team of innovators that includes top scientists and engineers creating cutting-edge solutions to tomorrow's problems. Our work focuses on the sweet spot between R&D and customer-serving solutions in the realm of terrestrial and space-based optical systems. • Work with the hardware design team on requirements and parts selection. • Complete FPGA logic design, coding, simulation, and testing. • Support hardware and software development teams in bring-up and test of products. • Provide subject-matter expertise regarding design and automated test development procedures to customers and production support team. • Perform research and analysis of data, such as customer proposed specifications, datasheets, or manuals to determine design approach and/or feasibility. • Execute debugging and stressing of the design in the lab. • Perform synthesis, implementation, and timing analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications • 8+ years of experience on hardware development projects • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or other equivalent leadership role. • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with an engineering/math focus or other equivalent field of discipline. • Expertise in FPGA development working with VHDL and/or Verilog • Familiar with Xilinx product line • Knowledge of hardware interfaces, timing diagrams and communications protocols About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
