Development Associate, Events 10/16/24Full Time--Manhattan Job ID: 007219 Description: Executive Headquarters (117 West 124th St) $55,000 - 70,000 / year Position Summary: ** The Development Associate of Events will report to the Director of Events to support fundraising and planning activities related to the strategic growth and expansion of $2+ million in revenue-generating and donor cultivation events. In addition, the Development Associate will drive the planning and execution of one cultivation event and manage our Children's Aid TCS New York City Marathon and United Airlines NYC Half teams. This position will offer a substantive growth opportunity for an individual interested in developing a diverse set of transferable skills, including many aspects central to the work of Development departments.** Essential Duties: ** ** Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures Events In partnership with the Director of Events, help plan and execute development fundraising events and activities with a focus on the annual Benefit Draft and manage direct mail and solicitation pieces for event mailings and donor cultivation Manage and track team follow-up phone calls post-solicitation letter for invitation mailings Coordinate, train, and manage staff and volunteers for event days Drive planning and execution of one cultivation or stewardship event each year, meeting or exceeding outlined agency goals, including strategy, print and digital communication pieces, follow up, budgets, logistics, and post-event stewardship Lead and oversee the solicitation, collection, and execution of silent and live auctions, raffle prizes, and gift bags for all events Collaborate with the Director of Events to develop and draft digital communications, including social media posts, and manage calendar of web-based and social media related campaigns Develop internal and external communications, presentations, and letters for donors, events committees, and agency leadership Develop and cultivate relationships with a small pool of donors, sponsors, and vendors including active solicitation and stewardship Manage all billing and invoicing for donors and vendors for the Events team Assist in record keeping for each fundraising campaign Manage photo uploading and tagging for Events into organization's photo sharing platform Build, maintain, prepare, and analyze benefit-related trackers and reports in and out of Raiser's Edge related to fundraising, event donor activity, timelines, printing and collateral, attendance, etc. Work closely with Development and other organization departments Perform additional assignments and donor- or event-related tasks, as necessary Children's Aid TCS New York City Marathon and United Airlines NYC Half Team Drive fundraising by developing collateral and communications to meet fundraising goals and support runners Develop digital and social media campaigns to raise awareness, recruit participants, and share stories Collaborate with the New York Road Runners and other key stakeholders to position Children's Aid for continued growth Coordinate and manage Marathon- and NYC Half-related activities for Team Children's Aid, including day-of logistics**** Submit application and required fundraising reports to New York Road Runners Minimum Qualifications: ** ** Bachelor's degree required Key Competencies: Ability to motivate and to take initiative as a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and with a team Must have excellent writing, interpersonal communication, relationship building, and presentation skills Superb time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines Strong customer service skills with proven follow up and follow through capabilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Ability to work a flexible schedule based on event needs, including nights and some weekends leading up to an event High level of ethical standard with the ability to represent the organization professionally and responsibly Preferred Skills and Competencies: Experience in organizing and executing successful events Experience with CRM or fundraising database management such as Raiser's Edge or Salesforce Professional experience with drafting social media communications for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn Experience with Canva or InDesign ** ** Please include a cover letter when applying.
