General Job Summary: The Quality Engineer will lead and facilitate the implementation of quality initiatives and their continual improvement. Responsibilities include lead, coach, and facilitate problem solving, analysis of data and continual improvement activities. Ensure the quality of the parts produced meet all expectations; quickly and effectively take action when external or internal non-conformances are found.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Follows all safety process and procedures in accordance with the job and Company policyBe the Quality liaison between the customer and site manufacturing processFacilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective actionInterfaces with engineering and manufacturing to ascertain and implement corrective actionsResponsible for customer concern management and corrective action request processProvide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniquesDetermine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processesReview and analyze resultsRecommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectivenessParticipate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning activities (NORP) to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startupParticipate in the PT lot process to ensure that all quality checks as outlined in the MPCD are in place and will ensure that customer requirements will be achievedCoordinate, develop and submit PPAP documents for new product lunches to meet customer requirementsDrives continuous improvement and prevention of future failures by helping facilitate implementation of corrective actionCollects and analyses data and quality metrics such as scrap, End-Of-Line failures, and additional operationsReviews, Audits and Initiates Updates to the Quality and Inspection portions of MPCDs (operator instructions) based on customer printsEnsure compliance with QMS and ISO specificationsAssists with other duties as assigned by ManagerEducation: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in engineering or technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience: 3+ years related experience or trainingComputer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer and Microsoft PowerPoint.Other Requirements: Knowledge and experience in metal fabrication, stamping and forming. Ability to use standard manufacturing measurement tools and equipment. SPC, GD&T, DOE, Gage R&R, statistical analysis. Basic understanding of mechanical processes, materials and machinery. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to travel (15%) to customers and suppliers. ASQ certification a plus. PC-DMIS experience a plus.
