Controller, CPAMBARole Summary: This Controller position is a high-level financial leader capable of managing all aspects of financial strategy, reporting, and control for a growing and entrepreneurial company operating in multi-state and multi-entity environments. The Controller will oversee accounting, cash flow management, and compliance, while contributing to long-term business growth and is critical to the company's financial health and strategic direction. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all company accounting records. Conduct monthly reviews of balance sheets, income statements, and comparisons to prior periods and budget, including preparation and creation of all financial statements and footnotes. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including unearned revenue and seven bank reconciliations. Manage the preparation and filing of state and local taxes across multiple jurisdictions. Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor cash flow analysis. Managing and reporting all capital improvement projects completed for the National Forest ServiceUSDA according to an annual plan. Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and Capex reporting. Preferred Skills: Experience with ERP systems. Experience with Paychex payroll and HR systems. Knowledge of Square or other payment systems. Prior experience in concession management, real estate, or hospitality industries. Education: • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Experience: At least 10 years of accounting experience, with 5+ years in a Controller or senior financial leadership role. Strong background in managing multi-state operations and handling government contracts. Previous experience with National Park or Forest Service contracts would be a significant advantage. Proven ability to lead teams and contribute to strategic financial growth. Personal and Professional Traits: Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent communication skills for interacting with senior management and external Partners. Adaptability and flexibility to manage rapid growth and market expansion. Work Environment: • Hybrid position with occasional travel to other company locations (likely once a year). • Flexibility to work across multiple departments and locations to support the company's operations.
