Job SummaryThis role is part of the strategy & architecture team within the corporate IT organization. This role will be accountable and responsible for the development and ongoing administration of company-wide consistent and integrated set of processes, tools, methodologies, and programs used by the internal technology community. This role will administer or otherwise oversee architecture governance across IT and ensure governance is appropriately supported by policy and data where appropriate. The role reports to the VP Architecture and Transformation, in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer. Outcomes directed have a significant impact on the organization's short- and long-term results, specific customers andor partners. Job ResponsibilitiesCollaborates with IT leadership in the design and development of the strategic direction and vision for IT and Enterprise Architecture.Develops and maintains the enterprise architecture processes, tools, and ways of working in alignment with the overall IT vision, supporting the strategic needs of the business. Develops and implements plans to automate and continuously improve processes and data.Aligns enterprise architecture practices with Business Architecture concepts for shaping IT investment plans, making decisions on IT assets and their dispositions, and evaluating IT asset costs and roadmap inter-dependencies.Maintains the enterprise IT asset inventory. Develops and establishes standards and polices for IT assets, and collaborates with business and IT teams to inventory and classify existing IT assets.Creates and maintains the enterprise architecture roadmap to guide decisions for the lifecycle disposition of current IT assets and the addition of new technologies into the enterprise application architecture.Manages an application and utility rationalization program for the IT organization, working with IT leadership and peers to plan IT asset dispositions, the scope and costs of IT assets to be retired, and the plans, responsibilities, and tasks for their retirement. Works with third-party partners and teams to guide the program. Prepares and reviews executive reporting for leadership. Sponsors and directs architecture governance processes to make decisions and enable Sr. IT leadership to direct investment towards the IT strategy and budget. Collaborates across IT portfolios and functions to identify opportunities to leverage common solutions and extend the adoption of architecture standards and common, shared IT assets. Facilitates the communication of architecture best practices throughout the architecture community and the IT organization by participating in IT community and team events and leading architecture forums. Performs as an idea generator, working with others as a thought leader and subject- matter expert to help brainstorm new processes, solutions, and automation opportunities. Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts. Participates in planning and evaluation of options for selecting and eventual implementation of architecture portfolio management processes, tools, and data. Defines processes with the IT Operations function to improve the alignment of architecture processes with IT operations and CMDB data. Works closely with the IT Portfolio and Program Management office to align architecture and program processes.Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for the architecture function and supports the development of operational plans for Strategy & Architecture. Plans work and decisions to align to departmental budgets and IT investment capital plans.Directs through directors and managers who mentor, coach and evaluate their responsive teams and develop employees through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplaceUses technology knowledge to anticipate and understand the implications of the latest technologies to communicate and evangelize them to appropriate audiences and to integrate these technologies appropriately into products and programs.Engages staff and peers in the company vision, Champions our Customers (internal as well as external as appropriate), Drives for results setting high personal standards and demanding the same of others. Basic Qualifications & Interests (BQIs)Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of IT experience at a Senior Level OR a High School DiplomaGED and at least 11 years of IT experience at a Senior Level.Experience leading technology teams and setting technology direction.At least 7 years of experience working in Enterprise Architecture in a corporate, international environment.Strong analytical skills and technical acumen to understand and drive decisions on a wide range of IT assets.Executive presence in preparing for and presenting to senior IT leadership and communicating with teams across the IT organization.Experience managing work with cross-functional teams.Experience with change management though process engineering andor participating in or leading large-scale IT change transformation programsStakeholder management experience in a large matrix organizationExperience managing teams across multiple company divisions or business units. FiscalBudget Requirements:At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial business decisions in the workplace. Management Requirements:At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, andor cross functional team leadership. Travel Requirements: (if required)Not applicable if located in the Chicago metro area.A balance of remote work and in-office cross-team. Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)Professional project and or IT certifications as neededFamiliarity with Microsoft technologies (cloud, power platforms, enterprise applications)Fluency in English Experience in Retail andor Consumer Packaged Goods industry, services, and data Experience in Service industry company operations, Managed Services models
