- BS degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. - 10+ years of accumulative experience in civil engineering (or related discipline), design and construction management. - 5+ years of experience in a high level engineering management position. - Broad experience in design & implementation of projects that involve: site design, grading, roadways, drainage, hydrology, SWPPP, SUSMP, DAMP, LID, water quality, utilities, habitat, environmental, survey, soils investigation, structural, file maps and legal descriptions. - Experience working with planning and building departments, ACOE, CDFW and other governmental agencies. - Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D or similar. - Experience working with contractors and subcontractors required. - Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California Job Responsibilities Effectively communicates organizations position with various consultants, regulatory agencies and executive team. Assess and anticipate strategies of project plans. Oversees all in-house civil engineering design, documentation and implementation including grading, roadway, utility and development at all locations. Directs engineering management in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications. Directs preparation of construction documents, details, specifications, bidding documents, cost estimates and contracts for civil engineering. Ensure that projects meet legal requirements and guidelines including health and safety requirements and environmental impacts. Communicates with Legal and Environmental Compliance updates on projects and provides confirmation that guidelines have been met. Directs the engineering calculations as required for project designs. Conducts studies to evaluate efficiency of engineering programs. Reviews, approves, and coordinates product and process changes to maintain or improve cost/benefit ratio. Assesses working conditions to ensure compliance with all regulations and safety standards. Ensure compliance with codes and generally accepted engineering standards. Oversees the resolution of design & development challenges. Perform site investigations. Provide oversight and guidance to Director of Construction, Project Managers, Designers, Drafters and Engineers. Consult with the Project Managers for project estimate, schedule, bid, construction, change orders and inspections. Ensure preparation of the required legal descriptions, documents and draft agreements for City, County and other agencies are reviewed by Legal. Directs the coordination and management of the work of outside consultants in the preparation and execution of plans, specifications, and reports. Direct survey and aerial mapping as needed. Partners with Vice President with sitewide grading, roadway, utility and infrastructure master planning at all locations. Communicate and work with various governmental agencies, consultants and in-house staff. Partner with Legal and Environmental Compliance for entitlement purposes. Monitor and remain abreast of environmental issues, SUSMP, LID, SWPPP and various utilities. Maintain effective communication, interface and consultation with regulatory agencies and executive team. Obtain governmental approvals and permits for projects. Salary Range: $200,000-$250,000 Citizenship: Not Specified
