Job Title: Building Automation ProgrammerLocation: San Diego, CASummaryWe seek an experienced building automation programmer in San Diego, CA, who can support commercial mechanical construction projects. This role demands a local professional with a stable work history and at least three years of hands-on experience in building automation controls, particularly in HVAC systems within commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in BACnet and DDC controls and be proficient with industry-standard platforms such as ALC, Allerton, Tritium Niagara, and Distech.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement control sequences for HVAC systems in commercial buildings using BACnet and DDC technologies.Lead the commissioning of building automation systems, ensuring all equipment functions are optimized and operational per design specifications.Diagnose and resolve issues within building automation systems, providing timely support to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other technicians to ensure seamless system integration and alignment with project objectives.Maintain detailed records of system configurations, programming, and service activities, ensuring all documentation complies with industry standards and project requirements.QualificationsMinimum of three years of experience in building automation controls service, particularly with HVAC systems in commercial buildings.Proficiency in BACnet and DDC controls and familiarity with platforms like ALC, Allerton, Tritium Niagara, and Distech.Experience with Bluebeam, MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, and related software tools for building automation and HVAC projects.Must be based in San Diego, CA, with a local and stable work history in the commercial mechanical construction sector.Strong troubleshooting skills, capable of identifying and resolving complex system issues efficiently.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of additional systems such as Alerton, Schneider Electric, or Trane controls.Experience working on both new installations and retrofit projects within commercial buildings.Familiarity with energy-efficient building automation strategies and intelligent building technologies.
