Job descriptiontnAchieves is a nationally-celebrated, statewide nonprofit that works directly with students to eliminate barriers preventing them from earning college credentials. Serving as the model for TN Promise, the organization is in its 15th year and has supported over 500,000 students on their higher education journey. Seeking to ensure students are at the center of all education conversations and believing in the power of innovative disruption, tnAchieves is a team rooted in values and dedicated to meeting Tennessee's students where they are at scale.SUMMARY OF POSITION:tnAchieves COMPLETE coaches make their dent in the universe by showing up every day for students. More tangibly, this service-driven position proactively works with students as they transition from high school to institutions of higher education. They ensure students complete critical college milestones like filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and working through the admissions process. They are part of a cohort of coaches and a larger team dedicated to closing equity gaps plaguing the education pipeline. This means thinking creatively and working intentionally to connect with students who are at risk to level the playing field to a college credential.During the academic year, there will be travel to the Chattanooga State Community College and Cleveland State Community College service areas at least twice weekly to meet with students in person and at least one day onsite in the Knoxville office.tnAchieves COMPLETE coaches commit to at least two years of service with the organization.
