These programs are vital for the US government and commercial users. Our business programs have a wide scope and make a huge impact in commercial and defense applications. They include resilient space communications, networking, and remote sensing. The S3 team consists of a small group of skilled engineers who tackle ambitious problems every day. The role of a Space Mission Systems Engineer within our S3 group is to bridge all the mission areas - space, ground, launch, and support segments. Space Mission Systems Engineers in the group will conceptualize, design, develop, build, integrate, and test flight hardware for an end customer. In many cases, we also handle outstanding missions in orbit as well.The day-to-dayCradle-to-grave space mission development from mission concept to on-orbit operationsDevelop Space system budgets (RF link, data, power, mass, delta-V, propellant budgets)Conduct System Analyses & Trade Studies (orbits, constellations, accesses, flight profiles)Lead System Requirements (Definition, Flow-down, Management, Verification & Validation)Develop a specification & statement of work to procure a spacecraft bus for various missionsHandle spacecraft bus vendors and learn their platform as they develop and implement a contractWork with space flight hardware as you prepare for and conduct Space Vehicle Assembly, Integration, & Test (AI&T)Conduct mission operations for a flight space vehicle - plan and implement exciting mission experiments, trend & analyze space vehicle state-of-health telemetry, and develop & use operations toolsWhat you'll needExperience with a flight spacecraftmission delivery or flight space hardware delivery effortA minimum of three years experience in Space Mission Systems engineeringBachelor's degree in Space Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experienceU.S. Government Position; U.S. Citizenship Required Active DoD Top SecretSCI clearance RequiredRelocation to Tempe will be provided.What will help you on the jobProfessional or academic experience with AnsysAGI System Tool Kit (STK)Experience with using MechanicalElectrical CAD toolsExperience with softwarecode development using IDEs text editorsMathematical modeling and analysisExperience using Git, SVN, Perforce, or other version control toolsExperience with requirements management & system definition (Cameo, Jama, DOORS, etc.)Space mission contract experience - proposal development, government contracts, andor spacecraft bus procurement experienceDetailed understanding of one or more space vehicle subsystems (a history of designing, building, and testing a particular component, module, or assembly within a subsystem)
