Weigand Associates, Inc. (WAI) has an immediate opening for a Mid-Senior level HVAC (mechanical) Engineer with experience in the architectural industry. The successful candidate will work out of our Germantown, MD Office and will design for a variety of markets including government, healthcare, education (K-12 and higher education), hospitality, mixed use, and faith-based facilities. Read more about . Responsibilities: Design HVAC systems for architecture utilizing both Revit and AutoCAD Perform Engineering assessments and investigations. Prepare HVAC specifications and cost estimates. Perform Load Calculations and ductwork sizing, and equipment selection. Review and respond to RFI's, attend construction progress meetings, and provide punch list and closeout documents. Position Requirements: Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Work experience within the Architecture/Facilities industry (3+ years). Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required. PE, LEED and RCDD certification is a plus. Candidate should possess good communication skills, including technical writing. The engineer will be developing unique and innovative design solutions. The engineer must be proactive, have an understanding of architecture and building construction, be able to coordinate with other disciplines, and be able to meet the functional engineering needs of the project.
