Transportation Engineer

This role will be based out of our new Providence, RI office, and will be involved in multiple project assignments with diverse clients throughout the firm. What you'll do Under the direction of a Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, or Project Engineer, perform the following items for transportation and Complete Street Projects: • Design calculations • Bid documents including specifications and drawings • State, federal, and local permit applications • Perform fieldwork such as GPS data collection, infrastructure inspections and assessment, traffic counts, and construction observation • Contribute to reports describing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions from field efforts • Use technical software to support transportation • Use AutoCAD and GIS applications to support planning and design • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for interns Must have • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering • Excellent writing skills • Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS applications & proficiency with Microsoft 365 • Valid Driver's License Like to have • Previous intern or Co-op experience preferred • EIT certification - if working towards it, be able to obtain it within the first year of employment. • 0-3 years of experience Apex Companies is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action employer.
