Overview TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy decarbonization consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and decarbonization in multiple market sectors across the US. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence. TRC is seeking a qualified individual to support our Energy Transition Team. Responsibilities may include energy analysis, energy modeling, engineering reviews, technical writing, and project management for multiple projects and/or transportation related clients. Candidates must possess strong technical capabilities including knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, demand management, and decarbonization. The desired candidate will work collaboratively with the Advanced Energy team and clients to provide engineering support for market transforming programs that encourage energy transformation. There will be significant interface with clients that may require local travel. The position requires the ability to manage projects, flexibility, diversity of technical expertise, strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and excellent customer skills. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities (Duties): Developing and reviewing calculations and assumptions used to estimate or measure energy demand etc. Developing technical reports that summarize project scope, calculation methodologies, key assumptions, and recommendations. Conducting project fieldwork and energy analysis using standard resources and templates and custom tool development. Working on a variety of energy calculations, strategies and projects. Delivering high quality reports and calculations requiring minimal internal review efforts. Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and client expectations. Providing technical assistance to customers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Analyzing large data sets to validate baseline and future energy demand. Keeping managers aware of project schedules and progress and providing regular time charging/budget updates as requested. Conducting on-site meetings and presentations and provide answers to technical and program related questions. Staying informed about energy transformation issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations. Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are those an applicant must possess to be considered a candidate for the position. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Energy). Other engineering disciplines will be considered. Master's degree in Energy or 2-5 years of experience with energy analysis, energy modeling, and technical report writing. Experience in electrification and energy efficiency recommendations including measures such as heat pump installations, HVAC upgrades and controls, lighting retrofits and controls, envelope improvements, motor replacement and controls, and refrigeration systems. Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Desire to be a quick and eager learner of new material and think holistically through complex problems, with technical and non-technical components. Problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teams. Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills. Aptitude for communicating (written and oral) technical and program concepts to clients, contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizations. Team-oriented, hands-on, highly skilled, adaptive, and client-focused. Compensation : In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
