Overview Location: Newport News, VA Duration: Full-Time Pay Rate: $100,000-$140,000 DOE You must be a U.S. citizen. Job Title: Project ManagerDepartment: Program Management SummaryProject Managers (PMs) serve as the company's primary customer point of contact to assure successfuldelivery of Trident's service offerings and contractual obligations. The PMs manage, coordinate, andcommunicate execution and oversight of individual contracts - monitoring price, cost, schedule, quality,and customer satisfaction throughout the contract life cycle, from award through completion of thewarranty period and formal project closure. Contracts will be primarily with the US shipyards forgovernment programs as well as North American commercial sectors of the marine market. ResponsibilitiesThe Project Manager (PM) will manage multiple projects concurrently and is ultimately responsible forthe success of their projects. The PM must understand Trident's scope and obligation, identify andassess risks across different functional areas, resolve issues, and ensure that a quality work product isdelivered on budget, on time, and according to requirements.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving and analytical abilities, and excellentorganization and time management will all be needed to succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities include:ï‚· Customer Communicationo Responsible for managing the customer throughout the project/program lifecycle,including oversight of all customer communication relative to pricing, scheduling,quality, and satisfaction. Build, develop, and grow the business/customer Serve as liaison between the customer and accountable functional managers(engineering, planning, supply chain, production, etc.) for successful execution of thecontractual requirements and scope.ï‚· Scope, Contract and Cost Managemento Oversee proposal / contract development, budget definition, and all direct chargedcosts.o Have thorough knowledge and understanding of the scope of work, estimate content,contract duration, contract terms and conditions, risk assessment, and salesconcessions.o Maintain compliance to the contract, which includes the scope of work, thespecification, and regulatory bodies.o Responsible for managing and reporting project financials - including development ofEACs, forecasted ETCs, and invoicing against a baseline project plan. Maintain andmonitor budgets across all functions to minimize costs and identify and mitigate risks tofinancial performance.o Assure approved contract adjustments are incorporated in the appropriate documentsand budgets and are disseminated to team members.ï‚· Execution and Monitoringo Ultimately responsible for the project's financial performance and the performance ofall functional team members executing the contract. Reports directly to managementregarding margin adjustments and profit/loss. Responsible for team's performance tobudget.o Plan and manage execution of contracts throughout the project life cycle - proposal,qualification, planning, monitoring and closing stages.o Coordinate, communicate, and implement planned activities, monitoring progressagainst the schedule plan and working with the customer and project team to adjust theschedule or activities to align with contractual requirements and successfully executethe project work.o Coordination and management of employees, subcontractors, and vendors executingcontractual scope. Ensure that cross functional actions/deliverables betweenengineering, procurement, production, and project management team members arecompleted successfully.o Ensure that contractual communication is logically stored and maintained. Responsiblefor understanding and ensuring Trident and ISO quality procedures are adhered to. This includes responses to inquiries from management, clients, customers, and thegeneral public.ï‚· Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technicalprocedures, or governmental regulations.ï‚· Effectually present information, write reports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals.Math Ability:ï‚· Proficient in calculating figures and amounts such as costs, discounts, interest, commissions,proportions, and percentages.ï‚· Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule puter Skills:ï‚· Required: Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project).Other Skills:ï‚· Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skillsï‚· Ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate problems in an effective mannerï‚· Strong time, resource, and budget managementSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has supervisory responsibilitiesLocation and Travel Expectations:PMs are expected to be on-site with the customer approximately 75-100% of the time during coreproject execution. Preference for position is a resource who lives in the area of the anticipated programor project.Travel may be required to customer or key vendor sites to interface with key team members to ensureprojects are delivering successfully.; the duration of these visits may vary from several days to severalweeks depending on the project requirements. During the construction phase, PMs are expected to beon-site (customer or manufacturing facility) and on-deck at least weekly to interface with key teammembers and perform a physical assessment of progress.Extended work hours may be required to achieve project objectives.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
