We have an immediate opening for a Radiation Safety Health Physicist to join our team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). In this role, you will provide advanced health physics (HP) support to ensure radiation safety programs are effective and compliant. You will also provide solutions to complex HP issues/problems and provide support and guidance to radiological control personnel. This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and provide HP input on radiation safety policies and procedures. Conduct assessments and audits necessary to comply with applicable regulatory requirements. Act as the point of contact for radiation protection program functional elements. Provide guidance and clarification on a diverse complexity of issues and answer radiation safety program implementation questions. Respond to radiological emergencies and incidents on site. Contribute to the development and presentation of selected training courses in radiation safety. Streamline processes and advance radiation protection methods at the laboratory. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Radiation Physics, or Radiation Protection or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance. Advanced knowledge and significant experience in operational health physics. Effective organizational skills with attention to detail necessary to handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment. Advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and to present technical information.
