Description The Assembler safely assembles product components to create a finished product and packs these finished products and parts (when applicable) in approved shipping boxes, crates and containers as instructed by product blueprints and customer orders. Receives and interprets work orders and material specifications as well as other work procedures to select, assemble (when necessary) and pack product components to create a finished product kit or complete a parts requisition order. The operations performed will support the overall success of the organization through correctly putting together individual parts to create a sub-assembly and combining sub assemblies to create product kits. The assembler may also, depending on customer request, select, package and ship individual parts or sub-assemblies in addition to finished kits. Will utilize a forklift daily. - (Can be trained on this) All products and parts must be inspected for quality and are to be packaged neatly, securely and to the customer's exact specifications. All required parts are to be included in every package without exception; our product packaging and quality should represent the industry standard and set an example for others to follow. The Assembler is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times and must wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing the assigned tasks and stop work immediately in the event of a non-conformance; they must also report to their supervisor immediately any unsafe act or condition that requires corrective action. Practices 5-S within their defined work area, returns all common tools to their proper place when not in use, and cleans the assigned work area once all work has been completed; the work area must be cleared of all debris and in the event that a tool does not have a designated storage place, the assembler will consult their supervisor and co-workers to establish one. As an individual and part of a team, strives to support continuous improvement across their individual and department tasks, as well as the organization as a whole. Performs simple and routine maintenance and safety checks to ensure that all tools and equipment remain safe and fully operational; in the event a piece of equipment is unsafe or non-functional it should be immediately locked out and the supervisor notified. Performs other duties as directed by the foreman and plant manager. No supervisory responsibilities are generally required for this position.
