Job Description The individual in this position will be responsible for developing and coordinating programs to prevent traumatic injury through public and professional education and facilitation of access to the educational and clinical resources of the MSM Trauma Center. The position will require collaborating with different agencies and working with the public to share injury prevention information utilizing various methods ranging from flyers to a website to formal classes. The programs developed will be based on data derived from the trauma registry to focus on the injury types and problems we see in our urban NYC neighborhood. Increasing public awareness of the extent of traumatic injuries will be used as both a method for prevention and a means of outreach to increase referrals and access to MSM. Qualifications Bachelors degree in allied health professional, health education, or equivalent experience required. Masters degree preferred Experience in community health promotion, volunteer activity coordination, or health education in a community health setting is preferred Experience with public speaking and/or teaching, individually or in groups, is required Trauma Program experience preferred Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and analytical skills Highly effective organizational skills and interpersonal skills Program Development experience Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Spanish fluency is preferred Compensation Statement The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $80,000.03 - $131,538.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. Non-Bargaining Unit, BPL - Surgery Trauma Program - STL, Mount Sinai St. Luke's Responsibilities Coordinate and/or provide professional education and staff development to members of the community, the entire MS Health system, our EMS colleagues, and MSM staff. Coordinate existing resources, such as the Trauma Case conferences, Research Meeting, and develop additional materials. Develop course offerings, lectures, conferences, and visitation programs. Work with Marketing to develop the website, newsletters, and other methods of community outreach. Publicize and facilitate access and referral guidelines, including providing feedback to referring agencies or physicians. Develop and coordinate injury prevention programs using local, regional, and national resources. Facilitate the development of injury prevention programs provided by the MSM staff and develop our staff as resources and partners in community outreach, focusing on pedestrian safety, falls, and violence prevention. Utilize data to identify and trend issues; develop evidence-based educational programs and monitor performance outcomes for improvement. Collaborate with local, regional, and national partners to share information and ideas through the RTAC, STAC, and ACS. Enhance prevention initiatives, such as SBIRT, fall prevention, and violence prevention in collaboration with CVTC. Participate in preparation for ACS survey and verification and ongoing compliance with standards. Other duties as needed or assigned.
