General Summary/Overview Statement Reporting to the Enterprise Pharmacy Business Procurement Manager, the Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all medications and supplies associated with the 340B Program Direct Replenishment model are properly purchased, stacked, and distributed. The Specialist participates in selection of vendors, products, assures that quality standards are met; introduces new products and troubleshoots product shortages when appropriate. The scope of the Specialist sourcing responsibilities encompasses the hospital's direct replenishment inventory associated with the 340B Program. Due to its service focus and project management emphasis, this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, well-developed analytic and organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while influencing but not directly managing the work of others. Principal Duties and Responsibilities · Prepares orders for approval. · Modifies orders as necessary based on shipment location feedback. · Places orders, close purchase orders, open POS when shipments are delayed or received impartially. · Provides Customer Service to internal and external customers. · Has ownership of designated Cost Centers and Vendors. · Collaborates with MGH Materials Management and Partners Transportation to ensure medication and supply orders reach their defined delivery area in a timely manner. · Ensurescompliance with the 340B program through foundational 340B knowledge, NDC matching worksheets, and the third-party split billing software. · Makes adjustments of ordered products within virtual inventory system(s). · Analyzes drug recall process and communicates recalls to any affected parties. · Participates in projects related to drug cost savings initiatives with a degree of autonomy appropriate to experience and project complexity. · Creates, maintain, and presents regular status reports. · Analyzes and conducts department audits as required. · Supports department/functional team with Supply Chain requests. · Tracks and resolves issues and action items. · Recognizes, communicates, and escalates concerns relevant to supply chain and inventory management critical path and/or timelines in a timely manner. · Completes specific tasks as directed. · Professional Development to include Training and Certifications. · Other duties as required.
