Overview Part of the Engineering team, you are the driving force behind the creation of our products. You are responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge solutions and products that seamlessly integrate creativity and innovation. Responsibilities The world's leading product company for water technology is seeking a Mechanical Product Design Engineer to aid in new product design and development within our Ceramic and Bathing product segment of the business. You will be part of a core department that works to invent and deliver new products that support the business's objectives and key results. You will be responsible for leading and collaborating on engineering design from concept to commercialization of new products, working closely with cross functional teams ensuring robust performance and manufacturability. This position requires strong technical abilities, outside-the-box thinking, strong time management, and communication skills to bring new products to market. Lead Engineering design for mid to large sized new product development projects Drive creation of schedules for engineering design and validation timing for NPD projects Create new product designs including technical design, prototyping, testing, and tooling design Design 3D models in order to achieve the product intent with design for manufacturing, working in collaboration with Industrial Design, Manufacturing, and Suppliers Create and maintain detailed dimensional drawings, bill of materials (BOM) drawings, and any required technical communication documents ECR/ECN Control - Maintain up-to-date drawings and 3D models with latest revision changes using WindChill PDM system Provide technical support and problem solving to the manufacturing facilities and suppliers associated to product design and process related issues Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Provide and execute design schedules in collaboration with Engineering and Project Management, and Manufacturing, and suppliers. Work effectively in a team environment Mentors, guides and supports less experienced Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 6 years experience, or a Master's Degree and 4 years of experience. Professional proficiency using PTC Creo 3D modeling software or equivalent Experience in the design of plastics such as composites, injection molded, & thermoformed parts is a plus Demonstrates knowledge with product costs associated with design Proficient with GD&T, able to perform tolerance stack up analysis Expert in using PDM/PLM systems, WindChill Preferred Self-motivated, who leads project teams with minimal supervision Excellent interpersonal, communication & organizational skills Strong project management and time management skills Strong understanding and experience working with industry best practices is a plus Must be able to travel occasionally, within and outside of the US Hiring Range The Hiring Salary Range for this position is $74,000.00-$102,000.00 annually. (Salary offer to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
