Now Hiring: Outpatient Counselor, Part-time Location: Southwood Interventions | 5701 S. Wood St. | Chicago, Il 60636 Salary:$25.00 per hour Shift: 5pm - 10pm, Monday thru Friday All billing and other paperwork must be completed the day of service (evaluation, therapy session, case management, etc.) Job Type: Part-time Here at Southwood Interventions, you have an opportunity to make a difference every day by helping people with substance abuse issues gain control of their lives. In this Outpatient Counselor role you will be working with the adult population. What You Will Do: Completes comprehensive assessments of a patient's substance-use history and treatment requirements, and prepares individualized, developmentally appropriate treatment plan. Documents treatment plans and narrative progress notes. Prepares and conducts individual and group counseling sessions; facilitates discussion and interaction; and enables individuals to understand and accept responsibility for recovery process and acquire necessary coping and behavioral management skills. Develops patient discharge plans that integrate aftercare treatment and utilization of appropriate referral resources. Performs case management, and serves as patient advocate, by obtaining, coordinating, and scheduling additional medical or psychiatric treatment; or other biopsychosocial services indicated to support patient's progress and recovery. Facilitate group therapy sessions Who You Are: Current certification or qualification as an alcohol, drug or substance abuse counselor as required by company, association, board, or commission in state of employment. A clinical license - LPC, LCPC, LSW, or counseling certification(CADC) is required. One (1) to Three (3) years' experience preferred; will accept internship experience. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Current licensure, CADC, LPC or LSW or LCPC or LCSW Two (2) years' experience working with Substance abuse. Preferred. Two (2) years of counseling experience. Ability to work independently. Ability to exercise discretion and use independent judgment in making decisions. Ability to promote positive behavior and manage resistant behavior. At least twenty-one (21) years of age. Valid driver's license from employee's state of residence. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
