Position Description: Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to collaborate on projects in the energy, industrial oil & gas, power, renewable energy (i.e., solar and battery storage, geothermal), and related sectors. Responsibilities Project scoping and development while working with senior staff and clients Engineering and design of electrical, mechanical, or structural systems for new facilities, expanding or upgrading existing facilities Site Design: Site evaluation from engineering design and construction perspective Manage the creation of site plans for conceptual layouts, interconnection applications, permits, and construction Performing engineering calculations for sizing and specifying equipment Optimize site plans for the most efficient combination of design parameters Provide site-specific energy estimates with PVsyst for storage projects Ability to design one-line diagrams Ability to QA/QC single-line diagrams and technical support documents Provide permitting support Perform engineering calculations for sizing and specifying equipment Prepare equipment and construction specifications, RFP's, etc. Use AutoCAD to create engineering drawings and documents for construction Back check CAD work by others, engineering documents for projects, and supporting other staff with project-related activities as needed to meet project goals, schedules, and deliverables Problem solve and troubleshoot system issues and recommend options and solutions Review and analyze bid documents with recommendations for contract awards Attend site visits, team meetings with internal & external partners, and customer calls & meetings Manage relationships and sales pipeline with both internal and external partners Manage value engineering and project velocity improvements Tasks will vary in complexity, depending upon project requirements, necessitating a flexible work approach. The roles and responsibilities for the position will be dictated by the individual's level of experience and aptitude for taking on and completing work, and on the available work on hand. Typical assignments may include: Create models and energy assessments for developers to determine the amount of potential energy that a solar site could produce Review of reference drawings received from clients, coordinating electrical design and implementation with other technical disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) in-house and other consultants, and with the Client's Engineering and Operations personnel Review of bid and construction drawings Requirements : Education: BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree Some experience in oil & gas or utilities engineering
