The Cabinet Design Engineer will be a key position within our client success team, responsible for ensuring client satisfaction while driving the design + development of innovative millwork + cabinetry projects. This role demands a blend of client service, technical proficiency, creative design skills + practical problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering principles, exceptional design capabilities + the ability to oversee complex projects from concept to completion. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop detailed technical drawings, specifications + material selections. Ensure products are functional, aesthetically pleasing + meet market demands. Oversee multiple design projects, ensuring timely + successful completion. Conduct regular project reviews, provide technical guidance + support to team members. Stay updated on industry trends, materials + technologies. Implement best practices in design + engineering to enhance product quality. Review + approve engineering drawings, prototypes + final products. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs + provide tailored design solutions. Present design concepts + technical information to clients. Maintain strong relationships with clients, including homeowners, custom builders, architects, interior designers + more. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in design engineering or interior design, preferably in millwork or cabinetry. Excellent communication, organizational + project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in systems such as Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, or similar platforms. Strong communication + interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently + as part of a team. Detail-oriented with a strong sense of design aesthetics + functionality. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS + ATTITUDES Technical skills: Technical skills are essential for this role to be able to create detailed engineering drawings + specifications. The Design Engineer must have knowledge of the systems + software that they will use to complete a project. Communication skills: Communication skills are fundamental for this role to effectively communicate with their clients, their team, collaborate with other departments + ensure smooth operations. Ability to articulate questions, provide updates + discuss project details with team members. They need strong written + verbal communication skills for creating reports, documentation + facilitate meetings. Attention to detail: The Design Engineer needs sharp attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design + engineering. This attention to detail enables them to be meticulous in project + spatial planning, as well as timeline management with a consistent focus on quality control + design integrity. Problem-solving skills: This position will use strong analytic skills to proactively identify + resolve issues. They need the ability to work collaboratively with others, resolving any issues that arise + contributing to a positive team environment. Mechanical aptitude: As a Design Engineer, you will need the capacity to interpret technical drawings, understand cabinetry construction + how various components interact. You need to have the ability to learn + adapt to new technologies.
