LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client of ours located in Flint, MI. They are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to add to their growing team. They are a fast paced healthcare organization and would love to have someone join their team who wants a long-term career opportunity. Direct Hire, Hybrid after training. Responsibilities: Process accounts payable invoices: Invoice volume is anticipated to be no less than 100/week per person Obtain necessary approvals: for payment of invoices from Controller 90% of their payables are ACH transactions, but only managers have approval to send wire payments Handle month-end close activities for accounts payable Delegate tasks to AP Coordinators, reviewing their work for completion and accuracy Identify opportunities for process improvements for AP processing and recommend to leadership, including technology recommendations for new systems Manage 3 direct reports on-site in Flint, may add more direct reports from their Chicago location down the line, or additional headcount in Michigan as they grow. Other : Tech Savvy: Key requirement. The team needs someone with very strong technology acumen and can learn various software systems as well as make recommendations for improvements to processes or software products to enhance efficiency/accuracy of AP processing. Need someone who can learn multiple software programs and learn how to work across the different platforms efficiently. Hands-on manager; This person will also be processing payables, so needs to be aware that this will not just be a role to supervise others work and train new hires, but also be hands-on with processing invoices and payments. Hours : 40 hours/week. The AP team tends to come in closer to 9 AM, but other accounting teams start around 8 AM. Okay with start time between 8 AM - 9 AM. May have some overtime; not every week and at most would really be 2-3 hours of OT within a week. Experience : 5+ years of AP experience - required Degree in Accounting or Finance - required (Open to Associates or Bachelor's degree, but must be in accounting or finance ) Previous managerial experience - required (This team has had some turnover recently as well as employees being promoted to other departments. This group needs someone who can create a supportive, collaborative environment but also delegate tasks, provide training/direction, and hold individuals accountable to deadlines and deliverables). Healthcare or non-profit experience preferred, but not required. Dress Code : Business casual Compensation: $70 80k Benefits: Health insurance through BCBS , 10 vacation days, 5 sick days (can also use sick days as PTO) 401K: Eligible after 3 months of employment, 4% employer match and immediate vesting.
