Req ID: 438830 Public Affairs Manager As a Public Affairs Manager, you will be a strategic and proactive communicator, responsible for developing, executing, and measuring strategic communication plans that align with the company's key strategic topics. These topics include infrastructure, sustainability, workforce, and the Siemens U.S. technology narrative. Reporting to the Head of Public Affairs, you will manage and contribute to external communication initiatives, including media relations, executive thought leadership, and major company announcements, and more. You will serve as a primary contact for media inquiries and manage partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement communication strategies that align with U.S. business goals and objectives. Build and maintain relationships with national, regional, and local media outlets, proactively seeking opportunities for media coverage. Draft, edit, and distribute press materials such as press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, and Q&A documents to effectively communicate business objectives to diverse audiences. Leverage understanding of national policy and government affairs issues relevant to Siemens' business to identify emerging trends and craft appropriate communication strategies. Lead crisis communication efforts, coordinating timely messaging and outreach to protect Siemens' brand and reputation. Develop and manage content for various platforms, including external presentations, speeches, talking points, and bylined articles for Siemens executives. Prepare executives for media interviews by identifying appropriate spokespeople and ensuring they are fully briefed on relevant issues. Plan, organize, and execute media events, ensuring strategic alignment with corporate objectives and media engagement goals. Monitor, measure, and report on media activity and the effectiveness of communication strategies, providing actionable insights for future initiatives. Work closely with global and regional counterparts to ensure alignment and consistency across media relations and communications activities. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in public relations, communications, or media relations, with a proven track record of successfully developing and executing external communication strategies. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Political Science, or a related field. Strong editorial and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex, technical, or policy issues in a clear and compelling way. Proficiency in media relations and an understanding of government affairs relevant to Siemens' core business sectors. Experience managing communications during crises, with a focus on mitigating reputational risks. Skilled at developing content for a variety of communication platforms, including social media. Ability to travel as needed, particularly to the Washington, D.C. office. Preferred Qualifications: Language skills beyond English are an asset but not required. Familiarity with Siemens' core businesses, including automation, digitalization, intelligent infrastructure, and smart mobility, is beneficial. A curiosity to understand Siemens technology at a high level to explain Siemens technology strategy to media. A collaborative person who excels at creating networks and partnerships within the company to accomplish challenging tasks. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
