Lead Engineer Type: Direct/Permanent Hire Work Setting: Onsite Location: Lewisville TX CornerStone TTS is seeking an Lead Engineer for full-time employment. Lead a team of engineers from different backgrounds, working on both hardware and software development in a low-volume, high-mix production setup for electro-mechanical and electronic systems. Handle systems design, pulling together off-the-shelf instrumentation with custom software, hardware, PCBAs, cabling, and signal routing to build solid solutions. Keep the day-to-day engineering operations running smooth by hiring the right folks, managing schedules, allocating resources, and making sure the team stays on track with training and certifications. Be the go-to technical leader, pitching in hands-on with software architecture while steering key engineering projects from start to finish. Make sure every project hits the mark-on time, on budget, and meeting customer specs for both quality and technical needs. Act as the main point of contact for customers, keeping them updated on project progress, contract performance, and design reviews. Set up and improve engineering processes and procedures, ensuring they meet compliance and are always getting better. Keep tight control over configuration processes, updating software architecture standards and methods as needed. Help out the business development team by contributing to project proposals, including estimates for materials and labor. Lay out a strategic roadmap for the engineering department, focusing on both short-term wins and long-term goals (up to five years out). Ensure project schedules and labor forecasts line up with the company's revenue goals. Maintain strong customer relationships by delivering top-notch projects and keeping communication open. Qualifications At least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams in a systems integration environment, with a focus on complex software, electrical, and electromechanical systems. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Organized and detail-oriented with strong planning skills. A problem-solver who can think outside the box and get the job done. Independent and confident in managing risks and making decisions on the fly. Goal-driven and proactive, always looking to meet or exceed objectives. Solid communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence and lead a growing team. Must be a US Person as required by law. Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with ISO9001/AS9100 standards and ERP/MRP systems is a plus. Knowledge of DOD, Government, or Aerospace contracts and regulations would be a bonus. Skilled in software development environments like LabVIEW, C, C++, or Python, with experience designing distributed, object-oriented software systems. Knowledge of TestStand, databases, and data acquisition hardware is a big plus. Strong project management skills, with experience following PMI's PMBOK guidelines.
