The Logistic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating logistics shipment activities while maintaining accurate data entry, shipment records, communications, and transportation compliance documentation. Key Responsibilities: •Work safely with a safety-first mindset, including compliance with all safety procedures, and attend monthly safety meetings. •Coordinate shipments to or from our facility, including producing accurate Bills of Lading & other shipment paperwork, while maintaining compliance with DOT, EPA and other regulatory requirements. •Initiate Shipment ID numbers in Microsoft NAV ERP system, including accurate shipment details, as requested by Sales on Customer Pickup forms •Initiate shipments in the Transportation Management System (TMS), including obtaining freight quotes, assigning shipments to carriers, booking transportation, and ensuring carrier execution. Manage carrier data compliance in TMS. •Work with Sales, Operations, Receiving and Shipping in a team concept, coordinating Customer pickup & delivery, to maximize Customer satisfaction while optimizing efficiency of company Receiving and plant operations •Monitor, maintain, and minimize freight costs in alignment with freight budget •Monitor, maintain, identify, and address trends in Broker/Carrier service performance through use of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) •Update shipment status notes in Customer Resource System (CRS)- Microsoft Dynamix. •Update Shipment Log to reflect accurate shipment details, including any changes •Proactively monitor of status of active shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery. Communicate any changes or delays to Shipping/Receiving, Sales, and Operations as necessary. •Audit freight invoices for accuracy, approve for payment •Perform job duties, responsibilities, and assignments according to operational standards and procedures, on a timely basis as required or assigned •Clear communications with Supervisor, Team members, and Peers •Assist with logistics-related projects •On rare occasions, provide logistics support from home (via company laptop & cell phone) after office hours up until 7PM weekdays, as needed •Follow all company core values, certifications, policies, and procedures •Maintain efficient and effective use of time while observing safe work practices •Report to work as scheduled to support Customer and Plant Operations needs •Maintain good housekeeping and clean work area in your assigned space •Backup peer Logistics Coordinators/Modes as needed •Additional breakout of individual role responsibilities by Transportation Mode: Domestic Inbound: As above Hazardous Waste/SSW Reldan Truck: § Knowledge of and compliance with hazardous materials and hazardous waste transportation regulations § Accurate preparation of Bills of Lading and other shipping paperwork § Timely and accurate submission of EPA required submissions of shipment data § Assist with or prepare hazardous waste manifest data for various hazardous waste transporter reports to comply with state permit requirements § Plan shipments and dispatch single company box truck and driver for regional customer pickups. Qualifications: •Associates or Bachelor's Degree, and/or 5 years prior Logistics/Transportation experience strongly preferred •Working knowledge of truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) freight, markets, brokers, carriers, equipment, and operations •Strong attention to detail and communication skills required •The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with high energy •Ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks & goals through completion on a timely basis, in a rapidly changing work environment, while maintaining a high-quality work product •Ability to work independently, identify priorities and potential issues, execute objectives, and make operational decisions within the framework of the job responsibilities •Strong data analysis and Excel skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office software suite. Easily adaptable to menu-driven systems. •Ability & desire to find new ways to accomplish tasks & goals more efficiently •Knowledge of U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program, and/or International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), is a plus Working Conditions: •Main function/environment will be office work •Occasional donning of standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, and ear protection while on the plant/warehouse floor; Maintain compliance with all plant safety procedures during occasional observation and interactions with Operations personnel on plant/warehouse floor.
